Our Youth Helicopter Summer Program is a 3-4 week intensive course aimed at local teens aged 15 and up. The program is perfect for those with an interest in aviation and will take them from their first time in a helicopter to being able to execute simple maneuvers. No prior flying experience required.
For 5 days a week students will practice basic helicopter piloting skills one-on-one and learn what it takes to become a pilot. The youth program consists of 1 hour ground training and 1 hour flying per day with a Certified Flight Instructor in a state-of-the-art Robinson R44 helicopter. At the end of the program students will have an official record of their achievement and can continue training to earn their Helicopter Private Pilot’s License (PPL).
Schedule is 5 days a week for 3-4 weeks (flexible from June through September, weather dependent);
Students must be at least 15 years old by September 30, 2023;
FAA medical exam is required. Find an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) here;
Aircraft Renter’s Insurance is recommended for student pilots.
Program cost includes 15 hours of helicopter time + 15 hours of ground training;
Student Pilot Kit included;
FAA medical exam and Aircraft Renter’s Insurance not included.
